Chacos has been gelded and sold, but he and some of his youngsters are making their way into sport. Chacos is from stamm 4705.  This entire stamm is small enough to descend to a single mare, Gilda, within 4 generations, yet it has brought Holstein over 15 approved stallions in the last decade and a half.  Two of its most notable are young stallions Catoki and Chalan.  Though only 8 years old, Catoki has already brought his first approved son, also from stamm 4705, and Chalan has been vice bundeschampion as he continues his stellar career in sport.  Chacos mother, Nilda, is herself a ¾ sister by blood to Chalan and nearly as closely related to the Cambridge son, Chateau.  Other stallions from this small stamm include Casco Z, Lago, Laurenz, Orleandro, Ripley K, Levano, Larso, and Levantos I and II.  Chacos’ sire Ciacomo had been a successful 1.50m showjumper in Switzerland before being sold to the US in the winter of ’05-’06.
